I am running the latest VEA 2002 10.0.5110. I am accessing
an Oracle 9i database through Microsoft's ODBC connection
for Oracle.
When I try to Reverse Engineer a database, it chokes on
Unique constraints. It tells me that I have encountered a
fatal error.
So, I run the Database Update process and tell it to update
the model. It fails because 1) I have VARCHAR2 fields
greater than 2000 characters (acceptable to Oracle), but I
now have Unique indexes.
I try it again, and I have DUPLICATE unique indexes, and the
model won't validate. I have to manually remove those
duplicates.
I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to:
1. Tell Visio that the 2000+ char columns are OK, and
2. Get a version of my schema that MATCHES my database.
Thanks,
Kevin
