Reverse Link Tasks

S

SianH

Hi,

I have a set of dates in my project that each require a task to start 4 days
before the original task.

e.g. Live Date on 31 Oct, Send Email 4 days before it

I want to be able to move the Live Date and have the Send Email task
automatically update to always be 4 days before the Live Date.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi Sian,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

From the Send Email task, make a FS link to the Live Date task with 4 days
of lag. (Use the Gantt Chart view, Window/Split, select the Live Date task
and enter lag in the lower pane)

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

I think Mike meant:
-4 days (note the minus) to place the send email task 4 days before
the Live Date task.

You may also wish to consider a Start to Start link if you need the
Send Email task to start 4 days before the start of the Live Date
task.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
