Reverse numbering

Hi NG,
A table has numbered rows, 1-10
Is there a way to sort the table to have it show the rows backwards from
10 -1
In other words.
Can numbering be turned off without removing the numbers, or replacing them
with the plain characters?
I have Word 2000

Hi Flip

You can replace the numbering with plain characters as follows. BUT... once
you've done this, all the automatic numbering in the document has gone
forever. The only way to get it back would be to delete the plain characters
and re-instate the numbering. You've been warned!

Get the document you want to change on the screen. Alt-F11 to get to the
Visual Basic Editor. There you should see an Immediate pane. If you don't,
do View > Immediate Window. In the immediate pane type
ActiveDocument.ConvertNumbersToText and press Enter. File > Close to get
back to your document.

Alternatively, Cindy Meister has a way to numbering things in reverse at
http://homepage.swissonline.ch/cindymeister/MiscFram.htm.

Hope this helps.

Hi Shauna, how are you,
Thanks for the warning and this great trick, and the link.
I never knew this Immediate pane existed.
