Reviewing pane frame keeps reappearing after it is closed

I am a brand new Word 2007 user. Today I was using Track Changes to edit a
document. I opened and then closed the reviewing pane. Thereafter, the frame
of the pane kept appearing over my document. I could scroll or close out and
return to the document, and it would temporarily disappear, but then it
reappeared. Any suggestions as to how to eliminate this annoyance? Thanks!

I'm sorry I can't help you fix the problem, but I can sympathize; I'm having
the same problem. What is more, when I print the document in question, the
space for the vertical reviewing pane is left in the printout - the content
is compressed into a narrower area. Perhaps if you come across a solution,
you can let me know. Thanks, Jonathan

I think I may have the solution to your predicament after all. In the
reviewing window, if you select that the document type "shows markup" (final
or original version), then the reviewing page is left on every page of the
document even during printing, regardless of whether there is a review
comment shown on that page. Selecting a document type withput the "show
markup" option returns the page frame to the normal size. I hope that this
solves your problem.

Thanks, Jon. I haven't tried printing yet (gulp!), but I'll let you know what
happens. This is a very helpful discussion group. Thanks, all!
