Using Office for Mac Word for Mac 14.0.2 (101115), Mac OS X 10.6.6.
I received a .doc document created on a Windows machine (I do not have
details), and edited it with Track Changes turned on (checked Track
changes while editing, Highlight changes on screen, and Highlight
changes in printed document). As I made changes and comments, they
showed as being by me. I saved the file. When I opened it again, all
changes were shown as being by "Author" and the date stamps had
disappeared. Subsequent team members' edits when saved all show up as
by "Author", with no color coding differentiation, making
collaboration difficult.
I tested another document, and it works fine; the problem just seems
to be this one document, and it has the same problem if viewed in
another Mac computer.
Any ideas to restore the authorship tags would be much appreciated.
Or, any instructions I can give to the originator of the document as
to settings they may have made that are causing this, so we may avoid
it in future.
