Revision Bars

I have a document that uses track changes for revisions. Once all of the
changes are made, we accept the changes to produce the next document revision
level.

However, our contract document revision requirements dictate that we
indicate the paragraphs or sentences where the revisions have been made by
using the vertical bars in the margins.

Is there a way, either manual, or automatically, where these vertical bars
may be kept in place once the tracked changes have been accepted?

Change Bars." There he explains how to keep your change bars, but it's
not highly satisfactory as it means your changes aren't accepted, just
hiding.

Thank you for the response, however I need a more reliable solution. Is
there a way to insert a graphic vertical line in the margin manually?

I would have thought that there would be a reliable way to show a revision
bar.

The thinking is presumably that the change bars are there to call your
attention to changes that need to be reviewed, and once they're
accepted, you're through with the change process.

You could use the Drawing tool to draw a vertical line (press Shift to
constrain it to vertical).

We use many specification documents that are revised, and then distributed to
involved parties. The revision bars are there so that the readers of the
document can see where the revisions have been made.

I have seen many of these documents that were made from Word files, however
I have not been able to find out how this is done. I am preparing a revision
procedure document, and if this feature is not available somehow in Word,
then I have to find an alternative.

Any suggestions?
