Hello!

First time caller and all that...

I searched the forums and found that in order to automatically cc an address, you go to the Tools-->Accounts-->Edit Account-->Options and add CC in the header and the email address in the value...but it doesn't actually work. The original thread was sort of derailed by update problems, but it seemed that it didn't work for that person either (Lorene?). Any help on getting this fixed would be appreciated, I need to blind copy to an external archive server (that would be my gmail account :)), and I NEVER remember to do that, and adding an account rule to redirect is clumsy.

Better yet...MBU, please just add this as an Entourage preference, like most email clients have it. You could see Mail.app for a reference.

TIA everyone!

Seems no way to edit my original post. Trying with this further seems like this is either not working how I think it should or it is broken.

I tried this by sending an email to myself, and also cc and bcc to another account. I got the original email fine, and the cc and even bcc showed up (huh! bcc should NOT show up, that is why it is BLIND cc), but the account that was in the cc and bcc didn't actually get the email. It seems like it is fake sending the message. Is there a way to actually send it? Or am I missing something?

Again, TIA!

Using Bcc in the additional headers of an Entourage account simply
doesn't work across the board. In my testing, for example, Comcast
wouldn't strip the headers when they were added as additional headers in
Entourage. Some of this also depends on the servers.

So I guess that means that adding the header doesn't work? Or at least, the email wont be cc/bcc as entered? Too bad, that was a good solution, too. What IS the header for, then? I can't find any info on it.

I am surprised that Entourage doesn't have this, about all the email clients I am familiar with do have it. Hope this gets added or fixed in a future release. I guess I need to practice my Applescript skills and see if I can come up with some way of automatically adding an address it to all my emails. Thanks for the help!

The Additional Headers section in the account settings is for adding
headers. For some reason it just doesn't work with Bcc. Cc should work.
You expect folks to see those recipients.

Diane has a suggestion for doing this with Automator:
<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/automator/newmsg_bcc.html>

Please be sure to let Microsoft know you'd like to see this feature in
future versions by using the Help --> Send Feedback mechanism in any
Office application.

Hope this helps!
