Is it possible to input a text file of mail messages in Unix RFC822
format into my outlook mailbox?

Yes, take Advanced Email Parser from http://www.mailutilities.com/

It support many "input formats" including Unix mailbox and can act as
POP3 proxy.

Move all of your e-mail to an IMAP account and then have Outlook connect to
it. Simple as that.
