RGB and CMYK

Mark

Surely most documents made with Word are printed, right?
Why, then, does it handle CMYK files so badly? It seems
completely stupid to be placing RGB images into a
document that needs to be printed. Is there a reason Word
has difficulty with CMYK files?

Hi Mark

It's my understanding that all Word documents translate anything in CMYK
to RGB for printing. If you would like to add your voice to those who
think that Office should be able to work in a CMYK 'mode' (including
me!), then you can do so by sending an email to (e-mail address removed).
Use a useful subject line, including the word Word.

Hope this helps.

I would have thought that there was a one-to-one mapping between RGB and
CMYK. Is this not the case? Any on-line tutorials on CMYK?

Its a question on subtractive or additive regulation of colors, a few
graphics apps. do have a similar function as have Publisher.
You may find more concrets on the Web, search for Panteone as a start.
