ribbon in ON (refreshing the topic)

I think what would improve ON for the next version is the adaption of the
new layout of office applications.
Yes there has been much discussion about including the Ribbon in OneNote.
The difference is that ON is a v.1.0 product (barely 4 years old) with 100
or so commands.
Word and Excel are version 12 products (almost 20 years old) with 1,500
commands each. They desperately needed an alternative UI to toolbars and
dropdown menus just to find everything and make the commands more accessible
to the user.
How would the Ribbon for ON be configured without wasting screen space?

Hmm. I am not sure but it may allow a smaller or larger views of the ribbon
with small or large icons...
But also, everything can be places on the ribbon: for instance place the
notebook buttons in the ribbon
and in turn this will save the space for the current column listing notebook
buttons.

In any case, a ribbon is indispensible for ON I think. ON will look great
with the ribbon.
New sectiom, new folder buttons and so on, all on the ribbon...

I become excited as I imagine it!
