Ribbon lost its color

I have been using Office 2007 Standard for two years. A few months ago, the
ribbon in all of the programs (word, powerpoint, etc) lost its color. It is
now black and white and the font is defferent. I have tried installing
updates and changing the color preferences in "word options", but nothing has
helped. Other functionality does not seem to be impaired. Thanks for any
help you can give.

I have seen this when the Windows Theme has been heavily customized. Try
resetting the Windows Theme to a built-oin Theme and then re-applying
individual customizations.
