I don't think they forgot it. I think this was on purpose.
If you disable the Options button, then users won't have any way to get to
the add-ins dialog and switch off an add-in. So potentially, an add-in
could rob users of the Options button (and hence any way to get rid of
it), which would be a major support headache for Microsoft. The only way
to get rid of an add-in then would be via the registry.

Hi,
I'd like to hide or disable Excel Options button at Office Menu but I
can't
find its idMso as button and neither as command. I'd like too the same
for
Recent Documents list. Are these possible?
