right align text

I am a tried and true Corel User trying to switch over to
Word. In Corel you can type a word, then hit align right
(alt + F7) and be able to type the next word from the
right side of the page (very handy for legal pleadings).
When I try the same manuever with Word, it takes the word
I have already typed and moves it to the right side of
the page. Is there a word equivalent to this function of
Corel?

Try using a right-tab. Right-align in Word aligns the whole paragraph.
