This is in the wrong place but I cannot find a windows Xp
update section.
However, I would be interested to know if others have
this problem with Xp. If I press the right mouse button,
explorer.exe freezes. For the moment, I have one answer
and that is when security update KB826939 is installed
the problem will occur. Today the auto-update installed a
new set of updates and the problem has reoccurred much to
my annoyance. I have obviously un-installed them, but as
yet have not had time to find out which of the new
updates is the problem. This a awfully time consuming
game - I would love to go back to macintosh!
However, I too, as others have mentioned here have a
problem updating Office Xp, and as the error message
states:-
Windows Installer patch files (.MSP files) from
previously applied Office updates are missing from the
\Windows\Installer hidden directory on your computer. MSP
files are stored on your computer after update
installation completes because they need to be referenced
for future update operations. If the files are missing
you will not be able to apply Office updates. You may
also be unable to uninstall Office products as a result
of the same problem.
It would useful if there was some mention of solving the
problem! -- And why do files go missing anyway!
update section.
