Right Click and APPS crash

J

jaggiet

When I right Click on the mouse to spell check in Word power point and
Excell the APP crashes and does a dump. I looked on MS support area and
Google and could not find anything.
Running OSX 10.4.3
Powerpoint and Excel 11.2 (050714)
The lack of quality of these apps is starting to make me real mad.
If I had a choice I would dump MS given this quality.

NOT HAPPY
Thanks if you can help Garry

I assume that this also happens when you CTRL-Left click as well.

Since it's occurring in Word, XL and PPT, the first thing I'd suggest is
dumping your preferences folder. Make sure that all Office applications
are shut down (or this won't work). Rename or trash the

~:Library:preferences:Microsoft

folder (where ~ is your home directory). Restart one of the apps and
check if the problem still exists.

Don't know what, if any, other problems you've had, but you certainly
have a choice.

OpenOffice, or which my favorite flavor is NeoOffice/J is a reasonably
solid product. You can replace XL with the really quite outstanding
Gnumeric.

An exciting opportunity to switch is ThinkFree Office, which is
cross-platform, and the web-based ThinkFree Office Online are both
available.

Of course, you have AppleWorks, and Pages/Keynote.

What kind of mouse do you have? This might be a longshot, but it could be a
driver issue.
