Right Clicking a row or a cell in Excel cause Excel to crash

this problem just started over night. I will happen with any mouse
(Apple Wireless or Microsoft). It also happens when the control key
and left mouse click is used to obtain the secondary menu. Excel
crashes before the secondary menu can appear. Right Click and Control
Left Click works fine in other applications.

All work fine 8 hours earlier

First thing I'd check is that there hasn't been a system glitch -
restart your machine.

A quick diagnostic to determine the scope of the problem is to start XL
in another user account (create a dummy one if you don't have one). If
the problem is still there, then there's a problem with the way the
system is interacting with XL - I'd check to make sure your mouse driver
is updated.

If things work correctly on the alternate account, something in your
user account is causing the problem. An easy thing to check is to delete
(or rename, if you don't care to lose your preferences) these files:

Excel Toolbars (11)
com.microsoft.Excel.prefs.plist

from the

~:Library:preferences:Microsoft

folder (where ~ is your home directory).
