right mouse, select print in open screen while in Word

I get the following error "The command you selected is not available from
this shortcut menu"
The right mouse, print works in the Explore Menu. I do not have to first
open the document.
Why is this not working in the Office Word XP?

It's either a bug or "by design." But you can still select a file and then
choose Print on the Tools menu in the File Open dialog.
