@RISK add-in

Jaclyn

I am using Excel 2003, trying to load Palisade software, specifically @RISK.
It is an add-in for excel. The installation process proceeds fine. but when
I try to open the program, excel opens and shows the error message "Could not
load athlib32.dll".

I am using Windows Vista. I know other people in my class have loaded this
program just fine in other versions of Windows. Please help. I don't know
what to do!

Thank you.

You can only get tech support if you register. In order to register, during
the registration process you must check off what type of software you have
installed. There are several different versions, and since I can't open up
the software once it is installed, I can't tell what version I am using.
Also, this is a student installation package, and no version information is
listed on the packaging.

type in or paste

Could Not Load ATHLIB32.DLL

in the search box and select @RISK for Excel in the Product dropdown

the problem solution was as follows:

"Problem Solution:

This message can occur when the reference to DTOOLS32.xll in the Excel
Add-Ins dialog (and thus in the Windows Registry) is no longer valid. For
example, if two different editions (such as Standard and Professional) or
two different versions (such as 3.5 and 4) of @RISK for Excel are installed
on the same machine, this could happen when the current DTOOLS.ini file
points to a different DTOOLS\System folder.

If you know for a fact that 2 different editions are not, and have never
been installed on that machine, try the following:

1) Open Excel and access the TOOLS > ADDINS dialog

2) Un-check the "DTOOLS32"

3) If you get a message stating that the Dtools32.xll no longer exists in
the specified location, choose to have it removed from the addins list

4) Access the TOOLS > ADDINS dialog again and using the "BROWSE" button
navigate to the "..\Dtools\System\Dtools32.xll" and add it to the list of
addins leaving it checked.

5) Close Excel, then restart @RISK.

The message can also occur if the DTOOLS folder has been renamed or moved so
that the DTOOLS.ini no longer points to the appropriate location.

There is an alternate message sometimes caused by these conditions: Could
not load RSKLIB32.DLL.

To fix this problem re-install the software to re-establish the correct
program path settings."

Thank you, but this did not solve the problem. And I gathered some
additional information...
1. I have an additional error message: "Could not load C:\Program
Files\Palisade\SYSTEM\ATHLIB32.DLL, err=1114."
2. I searched my computer and I can't find any folder named DTOOLS.
3. I found the DTOOLS.INI file. The file content is below...

Also, I tried to edit and resave the DTOOLS.INI file and I got the following
error message: "Cannot create the C:\Windows\DTOOLS.INI file. Make sure
that the path and file name are correct."

If that doesn't do the trick, try an email or call to Palisade.

If you still do not have this resolved, you really need to contact Palisade
for support
