Risk Management Question

Has anyone used the Risk Management function throughout a project life cycle?
I am currently in a risk management role and trying to figure out how
effective a tool this is. I've used other tools in the past but this is one
my company is looking into.
Any comments or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi

This realy depends on what you are looking for from the risk management tool

This in not a monte carlo risk analysis tool - this is risk register which
integrates with the Project Server collaboration model and provides reporting
capabilities

Keep in mind that without a 3rd party tool such SQL Reporting Services your
risk management is restricted to project by project - by that I mean you can
not manage a risk profile across a programme or portfolio

With this in mind the risk tools in the Project Web Access client provide a
unique integration with your schedule in that you can assign risks to tasks,
documents, issues etc.

I have used the risk and issue tools on a number of client and as long as
expectations are set as above ... this has proved to be a useful tool within
Project Server 2003

I hope this helps
