Roles in WSS

I understand what roles PM's and TM's are placed in on WSS
when added to the subweb by Project Server (Project
Manager and Team Member respectively), however, what
actions do these roles allow? I'm specifically referring
to WSS actions. Do these roles correspond to one of the
standard WSS roles (Contributor, Reader, etc)?
