Roll Cursor Arrow Over Toolbar Icons to Show Shortcut Keys

I

Ira

I just updated to OS 10.6.1, and I still use Microsoft Office 2004.

In Word it used to be that if I rolled the cursor arrow over a toolbar
icon, a little box with text identifying the corresponding shortcut
keys would appear.

Now this does not happen. Is there a way I could get this feature
restored?

Thanks.

Ira

Unless something about Snow Leopard has disabled the Screen Tips you can
control them in Tools> Customize> Customize Toolbars/Menus - Toolbars.
Restore the check for "Show shortcut keys in Screen Tips".

Yep: Works here in Snow Leopard. Note that not all buttons on the Standard
toolbar have keystrokes...

Cheers

Thanks, John and CyberTaz. I found it:

Show or hide ScreenTips
ScreenTips are small yellow boxes that display the name of a toolbar
button when you rest your mouse pointer on the button. When you show
ScreenTips, you can also include the shortcut keys in the ScreenTips.
1. On the Tools menu, point to Customize, and then click Customize
Toolbars/Menus.
2. To show or hide toolbar ScreenTips, select or clear the Show
ScreenTips on toolbars check box.
3. To include or exclude shortcut keys in the ScreenTips, select or
clear the Show shortcut keys in ScreenTips check box.
Note When you select or clear the Show ScreenTips on toolbars check
box or the Show shortcut keys in ScreenTips check box, the setting
affects all toolbars in all Microsoft Office programs.
