roller ball problem in Word

I just upgraded to Word 2004 and have a strange problem: when I use the
roller ball on my mighty mouse, the page frequently doesn't scroll
properly and freezes momentarily. But it remembers so you can scroll,
and then click, and it will catch up scroll for however much you
scrolled while it was frozen.

It is specific to Word and doesn't occur in Excel or any of the Mac
programs. It didn't happen with Office X. My computer has plently of
memory, speed etc, so I doubt it is that either.

Any suggestions?

Hi Augustus,

There were some scrolling issues with older versions of Word 2004 and this
may be one of them. Update Office fully and see if things improve:
