Rolling up Tasks to the Summary

Hi I am a new user to MS Project 2010 and i am trying to roll up all of my tasks to the summary tasks to show my project in one line with different colors showing each stage - requirements (yellow), QA (blue), etc. I hve made flags for each one that i would like to show and copied the *Rolled Up Tasks in the Bar Styles but they will not roll up to the summary task bar and will only show below the summary. Any ideas what i am doing wrong ?
