hi all,

how do I get word into a horizontal position to accept a long chart I copied
from a net page?
when word opens, its always vertical, and when i paste my chart, it loses
half of it.

Ta for reply, but no good.
I am using office2000 if that makes a difference.

What you recommended was one of my first ports of call, but in a brand
new word doc' there is no option there to make the orientation landscape.

What I am trying to do is open word to a blank page, then rotate it
to the landscape position, then paste the chart that I copy from the
net page.
There must be somewhere else in word that allows me to have this.

Ah, I just got a little further Ken, but not far enough.
The actual 'orientation' you mentioned was under the 'paper size' tab, not
margins.
Anyhow, when pasting my chart this time, I managed to get about an 1/8th
more of it into Word, but am still missing a 1/3rd of the whole chart.

I really want this chart as I need to relate back and forth to it while
reading
some text elsewhere.......... It has some very relevant historical
info I
need for a project I'm doing.

tia

ps, my browser is Firefox, does that make a diff?

If you have your page set to landscape it is as wide as it can be with the
paper you are using. You'll have to make the chart smaller - click on it and
resize it with the mouse - or do it from the Size tab of the Format Dialog.

Hi Lennon,
I was using Word 2003. They keep on moving things around and it's
difficult keeping up.
I assume you have done as Tony said and shrank the chart to fit the
page.

thanks guys,, I got it.

while it was in word, i set the size to 50% (standard menu bar) and because
i could see it all, i just stretched it around a bit here n' there and its
now
just fine.

cheers.
