I am trying to create a small (12 or 16 page) catalog. I want to use a
standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper in landscape format, and fold it over.
The first two pages I am doing are the outside covers. I set the PageSetup
for the "2 pages per sheet" option and selected "Landscape". Now comes the
problem....
I'd like the front cover to be in the "side by side" format (landscape), and
the back cover (which will have our return address in the upper left hand
corner with a logo(on the other half of this sheet) to be in "top and
bottom" format (which would be in Portrait). However, when I go to the
other side of the sheet and select the other orientation, it switches both
sides of the sheet, not just that side of the sheet.
To work around this, I thought I'd just set up the sheet for the Landscape
format (as the front cover will have many more graphics). Then, on the back
cover (with only the logo and return address in the upper left corner), I
would just insert a text box and then insert the logo image in the text box,
then click "draw, rotate or flip, etc.,...". However, when I click on the
draw menu and select "rotate or flip", none of the choices are "live" or
available.
I also tried to insert the logo image (its a .tif format) by itself without
a text box. Still not able to rotate.
Your help is greatly appreciated!
Also, MVP's, I've been using Word and Excel off and on for 7 or 8 years,
mainly for simple word processing. I'd like to upgrade my skills as we need
to save money to grow my wife's purse business (a 'cottage' business we run
off our kitchen table and her sewing machine) by doing the desktop
publishing myself. What is a good source for free online tutorials? Is the
MVP site good? What about for Excel? I can tell Excel is a powerful
program, but just wish I had more skill with it and also PowerPoint, but we
don't have the money for some of the expensive tutorials I've seen online.
Your help is greatly appreciated! BTW, why did Microsoft stop including a
tutorial with the actual program? Additional revenue opportunity? Didn't
they used to have this included standard?
Thanks!
