In Visio 2003,
I've created a number of new composite shapes to represent offices for
a floor plan. These shapes include a space shape, that I have named.
The problem is, if I rotate the room, the text associated with the
space shape is rotated as well and I cannot seem to find an easy way to
rotate just the text within the space shape. As it stands I have a
number of these objects with the labels going every which way, and I
would like to rotate them all to be readable in the same direction. I
can only think of two ways to do this, and they both seem to be a pain.
1. Delete the existing space shape, create a new one so that the text
will go the correct way.
2. Ungroup the space shape and rotate the underlying text area. This
only works if the desired direction is a mirror of the current layout.
What I find incredible is that the functionality exists to freely move
the text inside the space shape but that there appears to be no easy
way to do the rotation. Maybe I'm missing the obvious?
