Rotating text

Marc Harmon

I want to put text at about a 30 degree angle on a flyer.
I created text (Papyrus-font) in a text box but the rotation button in the
Formatting Palette is always gray - thus useless.

What do I need to do different?

thanx

I'm afraid you don't have too many options in a _word processing_ program.
Text Boxes cannot be rotated although you can change the text direction -
but that won't satisfy your requirement.

You can create other shapes & add text to them (like a rectangle). The
shapes *can* be rotated, but the text will remain horizontal.

The only option in Word is to use AutoText, which can be freely rotated as
an object. Perhaps that will do the trick.

Optionally you can create the rotated text object in a different program
then copy it into your doc.PowerPoint, for example, allows rotation of text
boxes as well (as any other shape) & the text within rotates accordingly.

I think he meant to type WordArt... (Help: Insert a WordArt object)
