Round bar to whole days

Hi,

What does the option Round bar to whole days do in the Gantt-chart? (menu
Format Lay-out).

If I create a task with 3.2 days, it doesn't seem to show any difference
with of without the option (in Project 2003 professional).

Hi Peter,

You will probably notice more of a change in the left hand side of the Gantt
bar than with the right side. If I create a task with 3.2 days duration
starting on Monday 3 January at 8:00 am, then turn off rounding, the left
edge of the bar moves slightly to the right (shortens.) If you zoom in on
you Gantt chart, the change will be more apparent.

Thanks Julie,

I now understand the meaning. It rounds 08:00 to 00:00 and 17:00 to 24:00.
Like you said, it is more obvious when looking at the left of the Gantt-bar
and zooming in.

Perhaps, you can help me with another problem I have reported a few days
ago. The title is Missing contour option.

In the Dutch version of Microsoft Project professional, I am missing the
Contour possibibilty in the Task usage or Resource usage view.

Has it something to do with the specific language version or with the fact I
am using the professional version without Project Server 2003.

Hi Peter,

I saw your earlier post about the resource contouring and I'm puzzled as
well. I run the MS Project 2003 Professional version (English - US) without
server and cannot seem to replicate the problem despite varying task type,
inserting tasks from other projects as read only. So I don't know if it
could be a problem with the Dutch version, but I don't believe it is a
problem with Professional.

Sorry I couldn't help further on this one.

I'll concur with Julie. When using the US English version of Pro without
Server a double-click on the selector button beside either the resource name
in the task usage view or by the task name in resource usage view brings up
the Assignment Information form and the contour field and pull-down is on
the first page of both. Is the entire field missing from the pop-up form in
your version or is the field on the form but the picklist of options is
empty?
