hi is there a way i can round the corners of a subform, it looks very
bland at the moment, i'd like to round the edges of a subform on my
main switchboard form.

Does it work correctly with bland, square corners? Is the data that it shows
correct with bland, square corners? Is your employer or client willing to
pay for "glitz and glitter"?

Not a single one of my clients was ever willing to pay a nanocent for "glitz
and glitter" (by their definition, anything not directly involved with
solving the business problem at hand).

If you run an Access 97 application under Windows XP, the upper corners of
the main form will be rounded. But it still looks pretty "bland" to me.

I suspect, with a lot of work, blood, sweat, and tears, you could use the
Windows API to make your forms look less bland. But, since you are not
likely to be using Access to create the next blockbuster game, I'm not sure
why you would bother.

I'd have to agree with Larry, Gary ... I've yet to meet a client who cared
in the least whether corners were rounded or not.

You say you've given up on Visual Studio because it is too complex, but one
of the reasons why Visual Studio is so complex is because it lets you do
things like controlling the shape and transparency of your forms. If Access
was to provide all of the options and 'down-and-dirty' low-level control
that Visual Studio provides, it would end up being just as complex as Visual
Studio.

All of that said, you might want to take a look at what Steven Leban's has
at http://www.lebans.com/Form.htm - as far as I know, he doesn't have a
solution to the specific question of rounded subform controls, but he does
have ways of doing a number of other things with Access forms that most of
us thought were impossible! :)
