Routing task updates

Hi,

I have a problem I hope someone can help me with. In our organisation we use
PWA2003 and MSPProf2003. We let our resources book their hours using the
timesheets (managed periods). We can edit the owner and Manager field of the
different projects. When I'm correct, PWA sends Task updates to the owner.
I'm unsure of the use of the Manager field (we just use it for budget
responsibility purposes).

Unfortunately, when I make adjustments in specific tasks in projects that
are not owned or managed by me (as administrator), PWA reroutes the task
updates to me. This is undesirable because we need clear routing (resource
reports to project manager), before we can get our processes audited and use
PWA as our main booking tool (instead of the print/double signature we use
now).

The question: Can anybody tell me how the routing of task updates excactly
work, and how I can adjust them to route the way I want them to route? (And
if possible make the system fool-proof)

Thanks in advance,

Remco:

The person who publishes the assignment owns the assignment. You can take
over ownership (transfer ownership) by opening the project, Selecting
Collaborate > Publish > Republish Assignments, and republish the selected
task(s) selecting the checkbox to become the manager in the republish
dialog.
