Hello

I am pretty new to infopath and I have a few quick questions. Is it
possible to submit a form to a group of users and then have them have the
ability to approve/deny the form and resubmit back to the user if rejected or
forward on to someone else is approved?

Hello

Yes you can do all that you want . Thing is how do you want to submit the
form , By Email/to a Public Folder/To a sharepoint form library etc. Go
through the Infopath Labs on the MSDN site to brush up the basics of
Infopath. Then you will be able to play around with Infopath and can build
some cool forms with all that you want in it.

Thanks for the advice, I was looking for something like this for a few days.
Seems really cool. However i do have a quick question, what flavor/version
of sharepoint does this need to run off on?

You can use the lastest sharepoint MOSS or WSS3( Free). WSS3 has one out of
the box workflow provided. MOSS has several out of the box workflow that
includes approval workflow.

Hopefully this will be my last question for the day. Is it possible to
validate against some tables in SQL? Basically we have job numbers and if
they type in a job number can I have it setup to bring in some static fields
in the sql database?

Infopath will allow you to pull data from sql. Look into the
www.infopathdev.com. They have great resources on how to handle sql. It
will allow you to query and pull data from sql into infopath. Most of time
you will need to build a form from a database form template. There are a
lot of resources out there that your questions will be answered.

I forgot to mention if you decide to go with WSS 3 and need approval
workflows, use the sharepoint designer to customize workflows.
