Row 1 Deleted

D

Deborah M

I am using Excel in Office 2007 at work. On one Excel sheet I seemed to have
deleted row #1, meaning the rows start with number 2. I have tried using the
back and unedit selections.

Can someone suggest how I get row 1 back? It seems to have some impact on
sorting/filtering. Thanks in advance.

The good news is that you have not deleted this row, otherwise the top row
would have been numbered 1 again!
One possibility is that you hid the first row. Another possibility is that
you reduced the row's height to 0. In either event, click the block above 2
and to the left of A, to select the entire sheet. Now click on Format, Rows,
and if unhide is active, click on that.

I suspect you hid Row 1. Try this to see if you get it back. Type 1:3 in the
Name Box (the empty field to the left of the Formula Bar) and then press the
Enter Key. Right click anywhere on the shaded (selected) cells and click on
Unhide on the popup menu that appeared. Did Row 1 come back?

Is the row hidden?

CTRL + a to select all.

Format>Hide and Unhide>Unhide Rows

Is the row set to a height of 0?

In NameBox type A1 and Enter

Format>Row Height. Set to 12 or similar.
