Row autofit not working properly

I have an Excel spreadsheet that was copied from a
Word2002 table. The sheet is 8 columns wide with 4
columns set to word wrap. All cells are set to the
vertical position=bottom.

A couple of the word-wrap columns have cells that are
truncating data when printed (like when a cell is overrun
in the no word wrap situation). For two cells that print
truncated, one cell is correct on-screen and the other is
not. Both cells are showing some word-wrapped text.

I made the assumption that the row heights were somehow
manually sized. So I tried using Format, Row, Auto-fit on
the offending rows and the rows expand to about 2 or 5
times the necessary height making for an unnecessarily and
impossibly long table, both on-screen and printed. I have
tried auto-fitting some rows (individually) that don't
have the truncating problem and some react this way
(expand) and some do not.

I know I can manually resize the offending rows, but as
the data is fluid and the printing problem is not obvious,
that is not a good option. A search of the knowledge base
didn't turn up anything of value. Is the problem in row
height, word-wrapping, or vertical positioning? Any ideas?
