Row Liner .xla file location question

During the download and installation of Row Liner, it placed the .xla
file on my desktop (iMac G5, Tiger, XL 2004). It installed and worked
perfectly. *But* I moved the .xla file into the MS Office folder to
clear off my desktop and now XL comes up with a message that says it
can't find that file, since it created path name leading it to the
desktop.

After getting this message, XL removes the Row Liner from the Add-in's
list and even if you re- add it in, it does not change the file path
name and it still thinks it's on my desktop.... and since it's not, it
says it can't find it.

I could simply move it back to the desktop, but thought there may be a
way to change the path name XL uses.

Thanks.

First, try adding it, then removing it via Tools/Add-ins. That *should*
clear up the problem, I think.

If that doesn't work, with XL closed. Delete the

~:Library:preferences:Microsoft:com.microsoft.Excel.prefs.plist

file (where ~ is your home directory). Empty the trash. Restart XL.

Thanks (again :) ), JE.

Believe it or not, when I went to try your suggestion and opened XL, it
didn't come up with the error. I have opened/ closed it at least 10
times trying to see if I could find a solution and each time, I got the
"missing .xla" error. I can't think of what I might have done
differently, but it's fixed now... by itself.

Weird but good! I'll try your suggestion if it acts up again.
