Ok, so I'm working away in EXCEL and I go to insert a line and *POOF* my row numbers on the left side of the spreadsheet have disappeared. Obviously, I've done something to make them invisible, but what?

How do I make the row numbers show up? In other words, I can see the contents of Column1/Row1, etc., etc., but I don't see A1, B1, A2, etc.

How did I shoot myself in the foot? I still need to add that row....

You've most likely turned the view of your Row & Column Headings off by
accidentally removing the check in the Formatting Palette in the Page
Setup/Sheet group. Recheck "Headings: View" to get them back.

They can also be turned on/off by the checkbox labeled "Show row and column
headings" in Excel> Preferences> View, Window Options group.
