row numbers jump ?

Why do the row numbers seen on the left hand side of a worksheet jump?
In my case from the are 1,2,3, etc to 18 then it goes to 1262, 1263 etc ?

This seems to upset the facility of dragging formulas down the page when
required.

Have you tried selecting for instance rows 18 to 1262 and then Format / Rows
/ Unhide?

I tried that and seems I have thousands of rows not required !!

I'll play with the delete button !
