rows breaking over pages

Hi. I'm working with complex tables where the row in column one will span
several rows. The first row is merged with several other rows.

How do I keep the first row from breaking over pages? The box for Allow
rows to break over page is NOT checked.

This isn't the answer I'd like to give you, but sometimes, the only thing
that works reliably is to format all of the rows except the last as "Keep
With Next ¶."

Thanks Jerry. I'll try that. The ultimate goal is to convert the Word file
to a PDF that will tag the table correctly.

Yeah. Sometimes it doesn't.

Do you know of any other options that might work better? I hate to use
manual page breaks or formatting the paragraph as page break before, because
eventually I'll have to edit the document again, and those breaks will come
back to haunt me.
