Rows Stuck at Top of Spreadsheet

First, this has nothing to do with Split Windows or Freeze Pains. None
of my spreadsheets have those activated. Here's the problem (it's hard
to explain). When I open a spreadsheet (let's say at A1), and start
scrolling down, the 'ghosts' of row 1 and 2 stay at the top, so that
they look like they're on the screen even though they are not. If I
scroll to the right, then the 'ghost rows' disappear, but they are
replaced by whichever rows I am on at that time! Bascially, the Excel
window just leaves the 2 rows at the top, and they sit on top of the
"real rows" that are suppsed to exist there.

So it will look like Row 1 and 2 and then Row 38 for example. But
really, rows 36 and 37 are the ones that should be shown. But the
ghost rows just stay there.

I know this is annoyingly difficult to explain, but if anyone has any
ideas, I would tremendously appreciate it. I can send screenshots if
anyone is interested. Thanks.

Sure sounds like freeze panes to me. What happens if you unselect this in
the windows menu? And, if this is not the case I would like to see a screen
shot.

Hey dosh-

I've not seen this one before, but as a general fix-it make sure you
Quit Excel & then trash the Excel Preferences file. While you're at it,
it wouldn't hurt to Repair Permissions. Launch Excel & see if the
problem persists.

If so, post back with more info re your system, which OS & version,
which Excel version, etc. |:>)
