Hi,
I have been tasked with setting up about 150 users all over the world with
an RPC over HTTP connection to an exchange 2003 server.
I am using the custom installation wizrad to build an installation cd that
will automatically setup the connection details etc...
But I seem to be hitting a problem that I am needing some clarification on.
When setting up RPC over HTTP does the outlook client need to be directly
connected to the exchange server once to set the username/exchange server
under the profile.
As when I complete a setup with a test custom installation it cannot open
the mailbox and gives me the usual box asking for the server name and
username (with the "Check Name" button) - The server name is set to the local
server name if I was connected locally - which obviously isnt available to
the remote clients.
I have all the setup for the RPC over http correct and I know it works (I
use RPC over HTTP on my laptop - but it gets connected directly to the server
everyday when Im in the office).
Am I missing something - or is what I am trying to achieve not possible
(without a VPN or other kind of connection).
Thanks
