I was hoping that Microsoft would spend some time on the RPC over HTTPS
portions of setting up an Exchange mailbox in Outlook 2007.
Specifically, when setting up a new account that uses RPC over HTTPS, it's
pretty painful to do - you have to avoid the "check name" button and move on
to "more settings", after which you will have to sit through the timeout when
it fails to connect to the backend server. Only after this trip down
confusion lane for the user are you allowed to make the settings to configure
the Exchange RPC over HTTPS proxy server.
Therefore, speaking as a sysadmin from a gigantic Exchange deployment that
ONLY uses RPC over HTTPS (no direct MAPI allowed), it would be nice to see
this experience improved in Outlook 2007.![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
