RTF conversion substitutes

When I converted my WordPerfect files to Word RTFs, Word replaced every open
quote mark with a small capital A. How can I use Find and Replace to correct
this? It does not recognize the small capital A at all. I find no way to
signify this letter in the Find box.
Help!

Select it, copy it and paste it into the Find What box. BUT note that you
must use the keyboard as you cannot copy/cut/paste using the mouse in the
F&R dialog.

I tried that and it replaced every A in 500 pages of the file.
Can you think of another way?

Did you convert these by using SaveAs and choosing .doc format from
WordPerfect?

I believe I opened the WP doc in Word, then converted them to RTF.

Unfortunately, Word isn't so good at converting WP to DOC or RTF. It is
actually a very complex process because WP and Word are totally different.
Unless you still have access to WP, you may have much manual reformatting to
do. You can probably partially automate this because from your description,
I guess that the missing open quotes are now displayed as a word starting
with an a (such as aThe instead of "The...). So you can limit your search to
finding words starting with 'a' rather than searching for any 'a'.
