rule for messages thru specified acct not working?

E

Ed Williams

Outlook 2003
Created a rule to move messages recv'd thru specified acct to a particular
folder.
Have tried deleting & recreating the rule - still doesn't work.
There are no other rules that end with a "stop processing" order.
Nevertheless, have tried moving the rule to the top of the list - still
doesn't work.
Please advise?

Define 'doesn't work' - does it not run at all or works, but not as
expected?

"Doesn't work" means that email downloaded thru the specified acct just winds
up in the Inbox with everything else and is not segregated to the particular
folder as intended.

What type of email account do you have? Are you filtering by account or by
email address?

Nevermind...you caused me to realize that the alt POP3 email server (personal
email address) was forwarding to the primary POP3 email server (business
email address), so the secondary acct setup in Outlook was only configured to
send (not receive). Ergo the rule would not work. Must configure the rule
to filter by email address instead of account. Thanks !
