Rule not working correctly

I am trying to create a rule that automatically forwards emails with a
certain text string (install progress note) to a specifc email address. Do
do this, I started from a blank rule, selected "check messages when they
arrive", selected "with specific words in the subject", then "forward it to
people or distribution list". Unfortunately, the recipients this should be
forwarding to are not receiving it.

I have verified the spelling on both the rule and email subject, so that is
not the problem. However, "Install Progress Note" is only part of the
subject line; these notes are site specific, so the subject contains
additional text that identifies the specific site. Does the "with specific
words in the subject" match for all emails that contain that, or only emails
that exactly contain that? If it is exact, is there another rule that would
match for all emails that contain that phrase in the subject, or could I use
a * as a wild card?

In addition, I have a previous rule I created that moves all of the install
progress note to a seperate folder; could that rule be interfering with the
function of this new one?

Soiunds like it should work. What version of Outlook and what type of
account (Exchange, POP, IMAP, etc.)?

There are no wild cards in rules. Whatever string you enter is treated as a
substring within any larger string. Case is not significant. If you use
the string "stop", for example, it will match "stop sign:, "pitstop", and
"stepstopittsburgh" as well.

Outlook will attempt to apply all rules to each message. Later rules (lower
in the list) can cause side-effects in earlier rules, but not usually do
earlier rules (higher in the list) cause side-effects in later rules. If
you want a rule to act exclusively on a message, include the "stop
processing more rules" action.
