Rule to receive only email to me in inbox?

Hi, I have Outlook 2007 and McAfee with the spam killer turned on. But I
still get lots of spam coming into the inbox. Frequently the spam mail will
use my business's domain name but with a random set of letters before the @
sign. What's the best way please of setting a rule in Outlook that only
allows emails addressed to myname@mydomainname to come into my inbox? Thanks
for any help.

There is always a risk that tightly screening your emails will result in preventing a valid email from reaching you. With that in mind, here's how I'd write the rule you've mentioned above.

1. Start from a blank rule.
2. Select "check messages when they arrive."
3. Select "where my name is not in the To box"
4. Select "and through the mailto:myname@mydomainname account"
5. Select "next"
6. Select "move it to the Junk E-mail folder"

This usually works, but it can be thrown off by the nature of your specific email address and domain name, which you wisely didn't provide.

Hi Kevin,

That's really helpful. As it's a public holiday here today, I can't test it
properly in terms of receving client email, but I'll set it up and give it a
try. Many thanks for your help and I'll let you know how I get on. I should
say that I check my junk mail folder before I delete it. I would also say
that it should be a fairly simple rule that should be part of any future
versions of Outlook.
