Ruler in Word 2002 (XP)

S

Simon

I run XP2 and IE7.

Every time i open Word 2002 the ruler(vertical &horizontal) displays. I
never use it and always switch it off via view menu. If I exit Word and
re-open later, the ruler stays hidden. However, when I re-boot the PC and
then open Word the ruler always displays again!

Is there any way to get my PC and /or Word to remember not to display ruler
when I run Word after starting up the PC? Grateful for any advice, please.

On Tools | Options and the View tab you can remove the tick on Vertical
Ruler. See if this stays off after a reboot. However I wonder why you don't
use the rulers. I use the horizontal for tabs and indenting and the vertical
ruler is particularly useful to see when the end of the page is coming up.
You can also drag the top and bottom margins here. Try making use of them. It
will save you time.
