Hi,
In Word 2003 I use metric measurements (the system wide settings are also
metric) and I have set units in under Tools > Options > General to
Centimeters. My default tab stops are set to 1 cm, and other tab stop
positions to any position, by manually entering the tab positions via the
menu Format > Tabs > Tabs.
However, when I want to set tab stops by mouse clicking on the ruler, the
tabs are set according to imperial measurements in predefined 1/4 inch steps
(0.63, 1.24, 1.9 and 2.54 cm, and so on). Why is this so, and how can this
problem be overcome? If I remeber correctly I did not have this problem in
Word 97.
