ruler scale

Hi friends
I am facing a strange problem with my Microsoft Office Word 2008
documents.
The vertical ruler in the word document shows the scale of only "0 -
5.5 cms". earlier it used to be "0 - 16 cms".
I tried to set the margins to default..but of no use. I tried to set
the page margins manually and opened the new document..but still same
problem. But when open the previously worked out document, it will be
normal (with 0-16 cms scale)
I dont know how to solve this problem.
Please help me to sort out this problem.

Hi Sunil:

You may also need to change the Paper Size.

The ruler shows you the length of the paper less whatever you have set for
the margins.

How big are your headers and footers? If you set the headers and footers to
something extreme, they will take all the depth of the page and pull the
margins in to make room.
