Rules and Alerts

Hi, I have a number of rules set up. One, in particular, forwards an email
to my mobile phone if that email comes from my work. Importantly, what I
would like to know is whether my pc must be on for this to happen, or whether
it should work as soon as it hits the server of my ISP. I did not check the
"on this machine only" box. The rule is working fine, but it is really
important that I don't miss the mobile alert. Many thanks for your
assistance.

Rules you create in Outlook on your machine ONLY work when your machine is
on and Outlook running. If your ISP has webmail, then you may be able to
create this type of rule while logged into webmail...

I am using OL 2003 on an Exchange Server and have several rules set up. One
is like you describe, if mail arrives from a specific sender it is forwarded
to my home. This rule works all of the time regardless of me being loged on
or my work machine running. Since you may not have an exchange server at
home hopefully you do at work. Set up a rule at work to do what you want it
to do. I am sure with the rules options available you can figure something
out.
