Rules - boolean AND vs OR

I have read several posts on this subject and seen suggestions for using
search folders etc.

First, let me put in my pitch for an "enhancement" request to allow the OR
functionality ... ie if Subject CONTAINS OR is FROM people is critical as
far as I can tell. I would call this a bug.

The response I read about the "two development teams" only irritates me more
.... remember the NASA issues with different sets of measures?

I do use search folders, but with a rolling list of general 30+ projects,
some of which have common PMs, resources and/or even customer and/or other
vendor contacts it seems overwhelming to me to try and do use custom views
and search folders to manage this. And, i also watch user listservs to which
some of my clients publish to and it is critical i not mistake those for
emails to me.

The two rule option is ridiculous. The 32k limit is quickly met trying to
use that as a workaround.

Aside from the rant, can anyone advise about using XOBNI or AUTO-MATE or
anything like that to allow an extension of rules.

I don't particularly care for client rules as i've had trouble at times when
outlook is hung or between connect and disconnect from the corporate vpn so
client rules may not always execute during large transfers with exchange.

thanks.

Already available in the form of two rules, one for each condition. What you
suggest provides no additional functionality that what Outlook already allows.

Microsoft has alreday addressed this. Exchange 2007 allows 64K by default and
that can be adjusted to 256K.

What exchange server do you use? Exchange 2007 doesn't have the low limit.

I use auto-mate and love it. I purchased it for the ability to move
messages after a period of time. I get a lot of mail I need to review and
want it in my inbox so I can see it but want it moved out on its own. The
things that are not overly important are moved after 8 hours, other mail is
moved after I check it complete.

Rules doesn't support ORing different conditions together, you'll need two
rules.

Are you using QueryBuilder with the filter dialog? It won't reduce the # of
folders or views you need, but it does make it easier to make complicated
filters.
