Firstly, for some reason my Junk Mail filter is becoming rapidly less and
less effective, and only catching a smaller and smaller proportion of
incoming spam. This includes messages with a vast range of obvious words in
the subject referring to sex, prescription drugs, stock investments etc etc.
Words like (apologies in advance if anyone considers some of these words
offensive) sex, penis, viagra, cialis, and many others which are definitely
too rude to send to an open forum.
So I thought that I'd try and fix the problem myself by setting up my own
additional Junk Mail Filter rule. The problem is that despite creating a
rule that looks for a big range of words in the subject, set to trigger "if
any criteria are met" and then mark the messages as Junk and move them to
the Junk folder, the message still come straight through to the Inbox. Why
is this?
I've looked and looked and I can't see any reason why this rule shouldn't
work properly. To make sure that another rule isn't in some way "masking"
this rule I've moved it to the top of the list, and I can't see anything
else I can do to make it work.
